!%)%@))( My no paid leave ends in one week....

Being a stay-home mummy has been one of the best time i ever had. :) Actually, i would really want to quit and wait till Jaekan is 2yr old before sending him to the childcare. However, i believe God has a plan and His timing. He knows my desire but I think He also knows best. I am very blessed to have this precious 4 months with my son. Though he wouldn't be in childcare fullday/five days week, but, I am feeling bad and missing him already. Recalling the precious time we have together:

Jaekan 15M/16M in our "pretend play" session learning about clothes: Pants, hat, shirt etc
He loves water! At Jacob Ballas Garden during 16M . We have alot of field trips and he enjoys it

At Jacob Ballas Garden for our Nature walk learning about colors

At Botanic Gardens for Nature walk learning about "nature-flowers, trees, rocks"

Latest fav after seeing Papa play guitar. Mummy bought him one and without fail, he will play with it. He even insist bring it out sometimes. He uses the guitar for church services too.

At 17m. He look quite different in a hat. I love his cheeky look.

Being a stay home, I cooked prepared his  4 meals daily. During my 4 months stay home, he gets all my thoughtful mummy homecook chinese food like soup, chinese dishes and rice. Stir fried bee hoon, macaroni, porridge, mee sua, udon etc.Though i struggle daily to look after him and cook.....but its still manageable with simple dishes!

.Oh yes. I really love preparing lessons, activities for him. I don't think all these early learning benefits him much. But, I just kept doing it cause i find it boring not doing anything intentional!? He enjoys phonics class with crafts. He likes drawing and painting, music and movement, pretend play and field trips! Its a bit of challenge getting him to focus for flash cards sessions. He is well trained for reader set sessions but don't know how it helps him though. We went through alot of themes: Animals, Vegetables/fruits, Home items, My clothes, Shapes, Colors, My Body, Nursery Rhymes. Quite impressed? I started him on these informal lessons as young as 9 months old! He only started to really picked up after 12 M old. Best lesson is My Body cause he could point to his body parts at 15M young! To me, thats an achievement.

He loves outdoor-Balls. I think he loves running, climbing and yes, balls! He kicks and throws them well. I bring him outdoor for play every other day.

Art and craft is a regular activity weekly cause I like craft. He is ok with it too.

Oh yes, he loves water! Our CNY family (wee) to Malaysia. I like this pic because this famous over shoulder hug is so likely of Jaekan towards me.

Oh yes, I believe in him contributing to the household by doing some kind of household chores every other day. He also learnt how to stack books on shelves, put back his own toys and throw rubbish into the bin. I am proud of myself and Jaekan for bringing this through cause its really not easy. Requires alot of consistency.
His regular posture for bedtime. He hasn't protest for bed yet. He is still very cooperative-looking forward for mummy reading books time, bible and prayer time and patting him with songs. He normally hugs his milk bottle and grabbed his napkin as a sign of comfort. He waits patiently for me on the bed. He doesn't want anyone to read and be by his side other than me at bed time. He also can sleep by his own wide awake when i exit the room and say "good night Jaekan". Its also consistency which I am proud of myself and him. I think thats why he doesn't struggle in bedtime cause of a good consistency bed time and routine which i pride myself.

I have grown to really appreciate my dad coming back without fail every Thursday to bond with Jaekan and relieve me for 30 minutes. This 30 minutes its precious where i cooked in peace and multitask with household chores. He is really very faithful and consistency and I think I take after him in this aspect. Some people say rigid but i think its beneficial for Jaekan as it brought forth routines and good habits! Also essential trait as Jon's wife whom you know creative people are pretty spontaneous. Jaekan, among all the grandparents recognises my dad the most. He will see Ah Gong's picture and call "Ah chie Ah Chie" which means Ah gong. He also will persuade my dad to bring him out for a walk.
