Wedded: 25th June 2011
"Anyone can have a wedding...but only God can create a marriage. A marriage is a miracle."
Indeed, how true. I seen many beautiful and expensive wedding events but what is a wedding event without a real significance of being 'wedded'? Being wedded is to adhere devotedly, even stubbornly to each other. Its a very strong committment and alot of work! And, personally, i felt that God can make it possible. I pray that God strengthen us.
I am wedded to Jonathan wee on 25th June 2011. It marks a different stage of my life altogether. Firstly, I am no longer "Ang" but "Wee". My husband has authority over me rather than my dad. And, I was to follow him all the days of my life. I have my own family now and Jonathan being the closest to me now. I am no longer an individual but always one flesh with Jonathan. All these will translate in my marriage w Jon.
Besides the significant change of everything.....the wedding event was very memorable. Its worth every of my effort and time to make this event memorable for myself & Jon..and our parents. Honestly, whether our friends & relatives enjoyed it...I am not sure..and shouldn't be too bothered about it. But, we set to honor our parents and God for this event.
24th June
We were rushing through, running errands for our honeymoon and wedding event. Phew it was so tiring. We went to the wrong location to collect our marriage certificate!! ROM informed the wrong location...!! -_-" We didn't also ask larh. And we have to change currency, go to the bank to pay up debts and buy stuff. At night, we had individual relaxing time with our bridesmaid and bestmen. I didn't do much. Just pendi-manicure and eat dinner. I wanted to sleep early. Jon had games and supper with Boon Siong and Jon Kiew.
25th June 2011: Morning.
My dad woke up me at 5.30am! It was surprising because he told me he would wake up at 7plus and 5plus is way too early for him. That day itself, when he woke me up, he told me he couldn't sleep! Hahaa..i slept through my night! :) Make up artiste came at 6.30am and make up/hairdo setting took around 1.5hours. Mom and sister arrived at 7.30am. Boy! My sister looks lovely.
Jon came to pick me up at 8.50am....he got to go through gate crashing by Janice and Elaine! I had 3 golden guidlines for both of them.
1) No bad food for Jon (He has a weak stomach)
2) No activities that will make him sweat alot. (I dislike all the sweating. He is my prince that day so he got to look handsome)
3) No ang-bao (cause we got budget haha! Don't pity my sisters! We did give them a small token lar)
So, he went through some other fun games and i made him promised me that He will love God more than me, and promised that he will always put our relationship in God!
On our way to Megu after tea ceremony on both sides, we were so worried. Skies were dark and there were signs of rain. The lanes were closed at Singapore Flyer due to NDP rehearsal. We were told by our helpers that they had trouble going into Singapore flyer!
When we were there, thank God that skies were clear and lanes opened! Phew! WHich means there shouldn't be any trouble for our guests! Praise Jesus for His help.
Wedding Program
The wedding program was memorable to me and Jonathan. Thank you Newlife colleagues for the beautiful bridal march and friends for all the other help rendered. Thank Randy and Janice especially for coordinating everything..and also Aunt Bee Tin for the beautiful decoration put up. It was really a love wonderland! I really enjoyed how pretty the place looked. Wine and food was good too!
We especially enjoyed the vows (which we wrote with some help) and it was a beautiful and serious moment when we vowed to each other and God. We also enjoyed the thanksgiving to our parents. My mom and dad cried...!! It was the first time they were touched by me! :)) Thank God we were able to honor our parents in the presence of all. I think its a special moment for them too. Randy and Janice's speech about us is really boo-boo lar. Hahaas. They told us they planned till 3am! Hm..its either some kind of distraction or wine or the very late hours that caused this! In any case, we thank them for everything..their love and friendship to us! Hahas.
Lastly, we appreciate all the friends and relatives that took time to come for our special day. I am really thankful for everyone that came. :)))
